Water is a precious resource for life, without water there would have no life on the Earth. We use water every day for drinking, cooking, cleaning, farming, industries, etc. Almost all human activities require water. Although 29 percent of the Earth is covered with water of which less than 3 percent is freshwater that is compatible to use. The main source of freshwaters include glaciers, rivers, lakes, wells, bores, etc.
But from the last century, we hear debate about the scarcity of water in populated areas because we rely on groundwater for domestic use which is in limited quantity. To refill the groundwater consistent rain is required but due to climate change rain is unusual. With the rise in global temperature, glaciers are melting down and dispatching waters into the rivers. Glaciers are the best reservoirs of freshwater
The two main reasons for the water shortage are population explosion and unnecessary water wastage in domestics. MTBS is highly concerned about this and works on campaigns that educate people about how to effectively utilize freshwater without wasting unnecessarily.
