Blanket Distribution Drive by Million Trees & Billion Smiles – Bengaluru

Million Trees and Billion Smiles Foundation organised a compassionate Blanket Distribution Drive across several areas of Bengaluru, focusing on individuals who sleep on pavements, in front of closed shops, bus stops, railway premises, roadside platforms, and other exposed spaces.

As temperatures drop during the winter nights, many vulnerable individuals — including daily-wage workers, elderly people, and those without shelter — are forced to endure extremely harsh conditions without basic protection. Recognising this urgent need, our volunteers visited high-footfall and high-risk locations late in the evening and distributed warm blankets directly to those spending the night outdoors.

Our goal was simple:

To bring warmth, dignity, and a sense of care to those who need it the most.
The activity was carried out with:

• On-ground community mapping of areas where people sleep in the open
• Direct distribution to ensure aid reached the right individuals
• Volunteer participation from companionate individuals.
• A focus on empathy, outreach, and human connection
This initiative reaffirms our commitment to community welfare and responsible social action. Every blanket provided is not just a layer of warmth, but a gesture of solidarity, kindness, and hope.
Million Trees and Billion Smiles continues to work towards building a kinder and more humane society — one act of compassion at a time.

The Science Exhibition at Prince Town Apartment Complex

Residents of Princetown Apartments experienced a memorable scientific event as the Visvesvaraya Industrial & Technological Museum (VITM), Bengaluru, in association with Genex Utility Management Pvt Ltd, organised a science exhibition and star gazing programme within the residential complex. The initiative brought hands-on science learning directly to the community, attracting enthusiastic participation from children, parents and senior citizens alike. The VITM team, led by education officer R Bharadan along with science communicators Vishweshwara Adiga R, Ramesha K N and Sanjana Anand, engaged residents through interactive exhibits and live demonstrations spanning physics and chemistry, sparking curiosity across age groups.
The highlight of the evening was the star gazing session, where residents had the rare opportunity to observe planets and other celestial objects through an advanced telescope brought by VITM. For many participants, especially children, this was a first-time experience of exploring the night sky up close, making the session both awe-inspiring and educational.

K Sajoo Bhaskaran, Director of VITM, and Jeevan K Raj, Managing Director of Genex Utility Management Pvt Ltd, expressed their delight at the overwhelming response to the event. They announced that the collaboration will continue with more such outreach programmes, aimed at making science accessible, enjoyable and an integral part of everyday life for the community.
